Sunday Lay Leadership
A beautiful part of our Sunday tradition is the chance to be in mutual ministry, worship is both personal and communal.
"Mutual ministry is an approach to Christian ministry that is lived out of the promises made in baptism. It sees the ministry of the whole congregation as the primary ministry. All members of the congregation are doers of ministry. Deacons and priests serve as resource and support persons to the congregation, and perform the other duties appropriate to their orders." (An Episcopal Dictionary of the Church)
We cannot share in the Eucharist alone! Who is a lay leader? You are! Anyone at any stage of life can take part.
Readers- Read the 1st and 2nd Lesson, lead the Psalm, and the Prayers of the People from the lectern.
Ushers- Welcome parishioners and guests to service or help them find a seat. Then at communion help people file out efficiently.
