Outreach

For truly, I say to you, whoever gives you a cup of water to drink because you bear the name of Christ, will by no means lose his reward. Mark 9:41

Christ Church Ridley Park has a long history of reaching out to help those in need. Our partnership extends to the local community, county, and diocese at large! With generous hearts we continue these partnership commitments, hold collections/drives, and host seasonal giving opportunities supported by our parish and community.

The Outreach Committee is a vital part of our Church ministry and the need for assistance in the community is great. Please consider becoming a member of the Outreach committee or volunteering in service to our programs.

Food & Resources

We have a minimal onsite pantry with shelf-stable basics and provide financial assistance to other area pantries and meal services. If you are in need we suggest two local options UMC Ridley Park Food Bank for a large variety of fresh produce, meats, and foods, or Laoves and Fishes. If you would like to share donations we suggest contacting St. John's Essington. If you are in need of assistance we would be glad to talk.

Seaman’s Institute

The Episcopal Diocese of Pennsylvania has supported the Institute for many years. Our parish provides sailors with meals, knitted hats, warm socks, gloves, and toiletries.

Life Center

The Life Center of Eastern Delaware County provides shelter and hot meals to guests in transition. Christ Church is dedicated to providing a meal and supplies once every other month to the residents. We are always looking for assistance to prepare hot meals or shop for items on the supply list.

Cradles to Crayons

Cradles to Crayons works to fight Children’s Clothing Insecurity in Greater Philadelphia and focuses on raising awareness about this urgent crisis nationally. They supply packages of basic essentials like clothing, shoes, diapers, and school supplies to children who don’t have access to these critical resources. Christ Church has a donation bin for collecting these items year round.

For more information, please contact Deacon Dennis.

The Rev. Dennis Bingham (he/him)

Deacon

(610) 521-1626 EXT: 24

You can call me Deacon Dennis

Dennis was first ordained into the Order of Deacons in June 2002, at the Roman Catholic Cathedral Basilica of SS Peter and Paul in Philadelphia. In early 2012, Dennis began his journey to the Episcopal Church, serving in a lay capacity. When Dennis retired from his position at US Postal Service Headquarters, he returned to his home in Wayne, PA. Then, in 2017, he began his formation for the Episcopal Church diaconate and in 2019, Dennis was received as Deacon in the Episcopal Church at the Philadelphia Cathedral.

Deacon Dennis's current ministry at CCRP includes helping in outreach, partnering with the Ridley Park Methodist Church food pantry, and seeking ways we can better help the needy from the area. He is thankful for the generosity of our parish, and the outreach already set up here and knows there is always room for growth.

Deacon Dennis has been married to his wife Noel for 43 years. The couple have 3 daughters, 4 grandsons, and 3 granddaughters. A high point in the couple’s lives is visiting with their family in Washington, DC, and San Antonio, TX. Dennis and Noel enjoy good films and TV shows. They are busy taking care of their 5 cats (2 indoor, 3 outdoor).

Stewardship Donate Pledge Altar Flowers

Holy God who calls the world into being, who calls us into Christ’s church; we thank you for the church that is our heart, for the mission of the church that is our joy, and for the ministry of the church that is our task. We thank you for the generosity of Christ Church, Ridley Park, for its steadfastness over time, for its faithful witness, wholehearted life, and its abundant caring ways. Make us courageous, make us ready, make us open, that we may become a resounding Alleluia through your passion and into your victory. We pray in the name of Jesus crucified and risen, wholehearted Shepherd of the Church. Amen.

Donate

Donate to Christ Church in support of the life, ministry, and witness of Jesus Christ. Contribute online to a particular collection or make a one-time donation under "non-pledge".

Give Online

Money is a lifeless substance, but without it, life as we know it isn’t possible. It takes funding to offer worship, fellowship, maintain buildings, care for one another. One of the steadfast ways that we offer gratefulness to God is through a pledge commitment.

Sponsor altar flowers to beautify the sanctuary with creations from God. Altar flowers are often shared "in memory of" or "in honor" of someone special and can be displayed the Sunday around a meaningful date. Information of sponsored flowers will be included in the worship bulletin.
