Pumpkin Patch 2021 Report
We were once again bold and brave. At the request of Pumpkin Patch USA, we accepted delivery of a full truck of pumpkins. That’s over 2,200 pumpkins! Even with the truck arriving on Tuesday the 4th, we had a hard working crew using wagons and wheelbarrows to empty the truck. Verone’s Auto Shop helped us by pulling off three pallets of pumpkins with their tow truck. And just as everyone was running out of steam, the Ridley High School Cross Country team came running up to help finish the job. We also had neighbors and Boy Scouts lend a hand. Many thanks to one and all who helped with unloading and selling.
We managed to sell all but a dozen or so of the pumpkins giving us record-breaking gross sales of $23,132.00! Our profit is $8,096 with 12% going to buy books for the Kara Barnard Youth Literacy Fund as well as donations to the Cross Country team and the Boy Scout troop.
Our Pumpkin Patch has become an event that the community looks forward to every year. It is a great way to meet and talk with people we might not normally see. We can be proud to be known as the Pumpkin Church!
