Weekly Prayer Rhythm

Prayer needs to be the center of any faith’s communities life. Our Anglican Tradition understood that each parish church was a mini monastery praying for the community and each other. Unfortunately, over the years this structure of prayer has declined in most parishes. While the Sunday Eucharist should be the focus of the parish’s weekly prayer life it is not enough to sustain us in our faith. Soon, Christ Church will be introducing a weekday Eucharist for those who cannot make Sunday, or just to take a pause in your week for prayer. It will be simple, and we will reflect on a feast day or life of a saint. Fr. Michael would love to hear your input on what days and times would work best for you.

Beginning March 11th, we will also be adding Morning Prayer at 8:30 AM and Evening Prayer at 7 PM via Facebook Live which can be viewed on our website as well. These prayers will be a short prayer of the day which will last 10 to 15 minutes. It will include a psalm, scripture reading, and intercessions for those in need. The great thing is you will not even have to leave the comfort of your home. Once they are prayed live you can watch them at any time during the day. Do not worry there will be a class on how to pray the Daily Office (March 10th!) and all you need is a Book of Common Prayer.
