Acolyte Ministry
A beautiful part of our Sunday tradition is the chance to be in mutual ministry, worship is both personal and communal. After the stricter months of pandemic isolation, some may find an even deeper value in enjoying space and time with one another in the nave.
“Mutual ministry is an approach to Christian ministry that is lived out of the promises made in baptism. It sees the ministry of the whole congregation as the primary ministry. All members of the congregation are doers of ministry. Deacons and priests serve as resource and support persons to the congregation, and perform the other duties appropriate to their orders.” (An Episcopal Dictionary of the Church)
We cannot share in the Eucharist alone! Our acolyte ministry is hoping to grow with the help of lay leaders who will respond “yes” to mutual ministry. Who is a lay leader? You are! Anyone at any stage of life can be an acolyte (yes, adults that means you).
Throughout summer we are hoping to teach and train new acolytes, if you are curious about this ministry please reach out.
