A Note from the Interim Priest in Charge

Holy Week is the center of the Christian year. I always think of it as a time for the entire parish to go on retreat. It is a week which allows us through the traditions and liturgies of the Church to participate in the passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus. We are through these days making the past, present once again. Some of the liturgies might be very common to you: the blessing of palms on Palm Sunday or singing “Jesus Christ is risen today” on Easter Sunday. Some might be new to you such as keeping vigil over the Sacrament on Maundy Thursday or attending the Easter Vigil on Holy Saturday. There might seem to be a lot going on this week and there is a lot happening. I would ask you to please take time out to attend as many of the services as possible. They are unique part of our Christian Tradition, and they will be good for your soul. Have a holy Holy Week.
