Funerals
Where grief is, God is present. We believe it is our duty to be present with people in the dying process.
Funeral services follow the liturgy of the Book of Common Prayer and supplemental resources. The services are widely considered to be some of the most beautiful in the English language and fully explore both what we mean by our beloved resting in peace, and what it means that they may ‘rise in glory’.
The Book of Common Prayer recommends that Burial services begin in the sanctuary, however, exceptions can be made due to the needs of the family and congregation. Clergy will preach a homily (short sermon) with the greater story of God’s gift of eternal life, and will offer the opportunity for select brief ‘reflections’ by friends and family. The funeral service is an Episcopal liturgy and follows that pattern carefully. Military honors typically follow the burial at graveside. All caskets will be closed for our services.
Our Memorial Garden is available for members of the congregation. You may purchase a single niche for the sum of $1,600 or a double niche for the sum of $3,200. The fee for interment is an additional $450.00.
