First Communion
November 28, 2021 @ 10:15 am - 11:15 am
The sacrament of the Holy Eucharist is ultimately a mystery. It is God’s gift to our renewal and union with Christ and each other. It changes us even if we don’t really understand how. In the Episcopal Church (now) we encourage all baptized people to receive communion. That means the newly baptized infant and the 100-year-old sage, the person who has been often and the person who is just trying to follow Jesus one day at a time. Yet, we also recognize the desire to learn more about communion and continue the tradition of an older child’s first communion. On November 28 at the 10.15 am service we will be celebrating a first communion. If your young person has not been receiving, we encourage you to get in touch with Rev’d Jane for a preparation session if you desire that work and particular attention to your child’s formation in the sacraments.
