Blessing of the Crosses
September 15 @ 8:00 am - 11:00 pm
On September 14, the Church remembers the finding of the cross by St. Helena in Jerusalem in 327. The Feast of the Holy Cross remembers not the death and pain of the cross, but as the cross as the sign of life. Traditionally, the cross was placed on a bed of flowers or herbs (normally basil since it means “king” in Greek) and carried in procession. On Sunday, September 15th, you are invited to bring your favorite cross or crucifix to church to be blessed at both the 8 AM and 10 AM Eucharist.
