Walk in Love: 2025 Pledge Campaign
“Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children, and walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.” — Ephesians 5:1-2
Dear Parishioners,
Well, it’s that time of year, Stewardship Season! For many in the Church world, it is a time of dread. Who will say
those talks, will there be a thermometer keeping track of the numbers, and get those tons of cards and letters ready to go.
Unfortunately, we turn stewardship more into a task rather than what it is called to be a way of life. Stewardship is not
about pledges or payments, programs or budgets, but a way of living into gratitude for all that God has given us in this
life. It is an accounting not just for our money, but also all the time and talents we have been gifted. Stewardship is not a
four-week task, but a seven day a week, twenty-four-hour response to live into compassion and generosity for others.
At Christ Church, we are blessed by so much: good people who give of their time and talents; a beautiful building which
can be a place of prayer, community, and service; material resources which are able to heal the many wounds of our
broken world.
At this time, I would ask how can you go deeper into the stewardship of your lives. How to you give more of your time
to prayer, to creating a deeper community, and service to those who need to experience God’s love. Yes, we do need
your financial support, but we more importantly need you—You as a faithful follower of Jesus. Jesus asks us to love
deeply and to serve others deeply. I pray we turn Stewardship not into a task, but a lifestyle. A lifestyle rooted in being
followers of Jesus full of thanksgiving for so many gifts big and small.
Please take time in the next days to ask how you can build up Christ Church with your gifts of time, talent, and treasure.
Do fill out the pledge card and return it by November 24, 2024, the last Sunday of the Church year. Thank you for your
commitment to Christ Church and thank you for all you do to be Christ’s presence here in Ridley Park.
In Gratitude,
The Vestry of Christ Church Ridley Park
The last Sunday of our campaign is Sunday, November 24th, 2024. Please send or submit your pledge-cards
through the mail, online, or in person by that date so that we may gather them together and bless them.
