Lenten Wednesdays

Wednesday, March 29, 2023, 6:00 PM

If you have never tried a ‘holy Lent’, or if it is a constant part of your devotion, we invite you to the daily reflections of our Living Well booklets. We have several dozen copies available in print, it is also available as a free download, and as a Kindle book. This is a product of Living Compass, and it helps us reflect and grow in faith by focusing on the integration of relationships, emotions, spirituality, rest and play, organization, calling, resilience and care for the body. We hope each person will embrace this devotional this Lent. Our Wednesday Suppers will be using this resource for our discussions.

The return of a classic: Wednesday Evening Lent Suppers. We will gather to share a cup of soup or stew, spend time in small groups exploring Living Well Through Lent, and then finish with the brief service of Compline in the nave. We can arrange for at least one hybrid small group if gathering on-site is not your reasonable option. If you have school-aged children and would like a breakout option for them, please contact Rev’d Jane as soon as possible. The journey of Lent is deepened by fellowship, study, and prayer, and this does all three.

Living Well Through Lent

We need teams of people to set up, prepare a meal, and clean up for the return of the Lenten Wednesday Study and Supper series. ·
We ask for the main course to be soups or chilis or stews for 25. ·
Dinner should be ready to serve at 6.30pm ·
Please be sure to make note if food has meat products (especially hidden), soy, gluten, dairy, and or pepper.

We encourage you to explore how we carry on meaningful traditions while adapting to this era in life giving ways. We continue, return, proclaim, serve and strive in Christ’s name every day.

About Us

We know that following Jesus brings both connection and transformation.

We encounter the Holy Spirit who is both demanding and renewing.

We strive together to grow in faithfulness to God’s way of love in this time and place.

Stewardship Donate Pledge Altar Flowers

Holy God who calls the world into being, who calls us into Christ’s church; we thank you for the church that is our heart, for the mission of the church that is our joy, and for the ministry of the church that is our task. We thank you for the generosity of Christ Church, Ridley Park, for its steadfastness over time, for its faithful witness, wholehearted life, and its abundant caring ways. Make us courageous, make us ready, make us open, that we may become a resounding Alleluia through your passion and into your victory. We pray in the name of Jesus crucified and risen, wholehearted Shepherd of the Church. Amen.

Donate

Donate to Christ Church in support of the life, ministry, and witness of Jesus Christ. Contribute online to a particular collection or make a one-time donation under "non-pledge".

Give Online

Money is a lifeless substance, but without it, life as we know it isn’t possible. It takes funding to offer worship, fellowship, maintain buildings, care for one another. One of the steadfast ways that we offer gratefulness to God is through a pledge commitment.

Sponsor altar flowers to beautify the sanctuary with creations from God. Altar flowers are often shared "in memory of" or "in honor" of someone special and can be displayed the Sunday around a meaningful date. Information of sponsored flowers will be included in the worship bulletin.
