Building a Pumpkin Patch

The Pumpkin Parade (unloading our delivery) took place on a very wet and rainy Sunday evening. Even with three time-change delays, we managed to build a pumpkin patch in record time! This is no small feat and it could not have been accomplished without the support and hard work of our community.

Dedicated volunteers braved the rain and worked as the sunset. Headlamps were turned on and the ground became softer and muddier as 2,600 pumpkins found their way off the truck and onto the church lawn. We appreciate the sweat and love of each person who took the time to part take in the group effort. Ridley High School athletes were a huge help and spent many hours handing pumpkins down a chain of students representing Ridley Swimming & Diving, Cross Country, Lacrosse, and Soccer. A special thanks to Verone’s Collision for helping unload the pallets and the Ridley Park Police for slowing down traffic. We appreciate all the neighbors and parishioners who joined in as well. This pumpkin patch is a team effort and we are so thankful for your spirit of service to the community.

As one parishioner said observing the teamwork, “this is what love looks like.”
Now come a get your pumpkins!!
