Advent at Home 2022
Advent Candle Practice
Traditionally, an Advent wreath is made of five candles, four in a circle, and one in the middle, in a circle of
evergreens. The lighting of the wreath is a practice that helps mark the passage of the four weeks of Advent. Three candles are blue or violet, one is rose, and the middle one is white; however, the tradition
varies widely! Yet, any combination of candle colors can be used. Some people pray with this wreath each
night, some once a week.
